Wackadoodles Cause Illegal Shutdown

According to the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution, it's illegal for the US Government to default on its bills. It seems none of the wackadoodle representatives, and their media darlings, have read this part of the document. They are willing to sacrifice the "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness" of the American people. I'm not a lawyer, but can't the Justice Dept arrest them for treason?

Let's start with Tea Party darling Ted Cruz, who's mock filibuster started with a lie, "All across this country Americans are suffering because of ObamaCare." The truth is, Obama care is helping Americans all across the country. 1

Then there's talking head Rush Limbaugh, who online said he supported the shutdown because Cruz could "articulate conservatism." Say what?!? 2

Next we have the Tea Party role model, freshman senator Mike Lee of Utah, who's key goal is to get candidates elected who support a limited government. Lee endorsed Cruz, also a freshman senator. His other goal, a balanced budget amendment, which might work nicely in a business, but in a government unexpectedly called to fund a war? He also might be surprised to learn that the federal government is his state's biggest employer. 3

Michelle Bachmann of Minnesota accused Obama of tweeting about the ACA bill trying to change it and thus the funding for it. Twitter records show nothing of the sort. 4

Eric Cantor of Virginia has refused to send a clean bill to the floor--one which ends the shut down without any strings attached--despite the fact that many Republicans in the House support it and it would pass. This bill has been sitting on John Boehner's desk for a couple weeks. 5

Randy Hultgren of Illinois continues to toe the Tea Party line by claiming a tax on medical devices is unfair, that constituents are forced to change doctors, and even college professors are forced out of the classroom. I guess the slowly improving economy, lack of House action to create new jobs, lack of state aid to improve infrastructure, and a denial of a fair minimum wage have nothing to do with the problems facing the country? 6

So, I call on the Justice Department to walk into these House offices and haul the wackadoodles into the DC Penal System. Of course, that's not going to happen--just like these House members learning to read ALL of the Constitution, not just the parts they agree with.
